Wombaroo Guinea Pig Milk Replacer is formulated to support the growth and development of young guinea pigs. Suitable for orphaned pups, supplemental feeding, or large litters, it provides nutritional support during the nursing period when maternal milk is unavailable or insufficient.

Commonly used in breeding, veterinary, and animal care settings, this formula is designed to provide a convenient feeding option for developing guinea pigs.

Developed using Wombaroo's research-based approach to species-specific nutrition, Guinea Pig Milk Replacer is formulated to support healthy growth and development during the early stages of life.

Mixing & Storage

Quick Feeding Guide

  • To make 35 mL of formula: Mix 1 level scoop (6.5 g) of powder with 30 mL warm water
  • To make 1 liter of formula: Mix 190 g powder with 870 mL warm water
  • Warm prepared formula to approximately 95°F (35°C) before feeding
  • Feed using a syringe or bottle with an appropriate teat
  • Feed every 2–3 hours during the first 5 days of life
  • Gradually reduce feeding frequency to every 4–6 hours as pups grow older
  • As solid food consumption increases, gradually reduce both the quantity and frequency of formula feedings

Because guinea pig pups are born relatively well-developed and mobile, they may be encouraged to begin lapping formula at an early age

Mixing & Storage

  • Pre-boil water and allow it to cool before mixing
  • Add approximately half the water to the powder and mix into a smooth paste
  • Add the remaining water and mix thoroughly until fully dispersed
  • Avoid using water that is too hot, as it may cause curdling
  • Water that is too cold may make the powder difficult to dissolve
  • An electric whisk may be used when preparing larger quantities

Storage

  • Refrigerate prepared formula for up to 24 hours
  • Freeze for up to 2 weeks
  • Freeze in small portions, such as ice cube trays, for convenient daily use
  • Once thawed, discard any unused formula
  • Wash all feeding utensils thoroughly after use
